Sara Astle is a certified dog trainer, behavioral consultant, and owner of PTR. Her mission is to help families use positive training with their canine companions and to work with local animal shelters and organizations by providing training for unwanted pets to make them more adoptable.

Sara is a military veteran who wanted a career change after her service to her country and years in the corporate world that followed. She has always been a dog lover and has always had pets. After attending successful training sessions with her rescue dog, Daphne, she decided to pursue certification through the Animal Behavior College (ABC) and hasn’t slowed down since.

Sara, her husband Chris, and three rescue dogs, Jack, Daphne, and Dixie relocated to the Huntsville, Alabama area in 2013. It is here that Sara pursued entrepreneurship and started PTR. In addition to performing her in-home training services, Sara is currently volunteering with a local shelter, The Ark, training dogs to aid them in getting adopted. She is also training service dogs for the Train a Dog Save a Warrior (TADSAW) program.

Sara and Chris are registered foster parents with Friends of Rescue (FOR), an organization that goes out to local kill shelters to rescue dogs on death row.

Future ambitions for Sara include getting more involved with other no-kill shelters and rescues, training police K9, and agility course training.
